Theater artiste, Anubhav Malhotra, is looking for his first break on the silver screen when he runs into a fan in wealthy Meera Valecha. Both become good friends, fall in love, but when Meera’s family disapproves, elope and get married. They re-locate to live in a room rented from Ibrahim Vakil and Anubhav gets some work in TV serials. His friend, Aditya, decides to give him a lead role in a forthcoming movie based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Meera then becomes pregnant, subsequently gives birth to a very ill baby girl, is told that the baby is no more, but Anubhav decides to medically treat the child, and is asked to deposit Rs.20 Lakhs.
